My Blogaversary!!
My Blogaversary!
This is a Big Week!!! On Friday, I will celebrate my Blogaversary. It’s hard to believe that it’s been a whole year since I started blogging, first at Nutrition By the Numbers and then later at A Better Bag of Groceries. To celebrate, I’d like to present you, oh faithful readers, with a little Giveaway.
One lucky Voter will win a NuVal t-shirt, a NuVal shopping bag and a NuVal pen.
All you need to do is leave a comment for me anytime this week voting for your favorite post from the past year. I will select one winner at random for all the votes on Friday at 7 am EDT.
Here are the Top Ten Contenders:
- My Top Ten Favorite Foods (8/30/09): I think the title is self-explanatory
- My Kids Top Ten Favorite Foods (8/20/09): Ditto
- Hip Hip Hooray (9/4/09): This is the blog post I had the most fun writing. Any Mom who has ever heard the Superwhy song from PBS will know why.
- Lunchables: How Bad Are They Really (7/12/10): The grossest post I ever wrote. It was like a horror movie.
- Marvelous Meals with Rachel: Seeded Chia Quick Bread (6/30/10): This is the post that has the highest number of pageviews on my blog. Way to Go, Rachel!
- The Healthy Pasta Night That Changed Everything (6/9/10): Writing this post about Peter Streit at Hy-Vee gave me goosebumps. What a guy!
- The Beans That Scored 100 (1/13/10): Wow, you ABBG readers REALLY love beans! This was the top-read post for a long time.
- Twins Take On Cooking With Kids (2/24/10): This is also one of the top-read posts of all time. My colleague Kim and her twin sister made the ever-famous No Bake Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Protein Bars from Love Veggies and Yoga.
- Incredible Vegetables: Brussels Sprouts (12-17-09): The only thing you ABBG readers love more than beans are your vegetables. This is one of the posts with the most comments (except for Trade Up Tuesdays, of course!)
- School Lunch – 1988 and Today (9-18-09): Your chance to see my ’80s hairdo!
I can’t wait to see your the Number One Pick from ABBG Readers! Thanks for voting!

I loved them all, but I especially remember this one “Tyler Trades Up: Trop 50″ because I had been buying the wrong one too! and I taught my parents to also buy the one with calcium. It is fun to see that one in their fridge now:)

Congratulations on your blogaversary! I would have to say I loved the Peter Streit sucess story – having spent a good portion of my twenties well over 200lbs making poor eating and drinking choices I have a soft spot for feel good stories

I love the blog on lunchables. So unhealthy, but in so many lunch boxes.

congratulations! I read your blog all the way down in NC. I like the school lunches blog. I’m so sensitive to it with my kids heading to elementary school. Day care lunches aren’t much better. My kids would come home asking for sugar for dessert

I like the blog on lunches as well as the ones with your kids (making creations, spaghetti, etc). Love seeing ideas on how you educate your kids about eating well practically in the kitchen!

I really really loved your post on beans — it was really interesting to see a canned product with a perfect score. usually it is the produce. thanks for writing this blog! i find it super helpful, as i don’t have nuval in my area.
